Shows I Would Like to See

Everyone has stories they like and would love to see adapted to film, but I've been pondering on what I would really like to see done by Takarazuka. They've already done a shedload of my favourites but I got to wondering what I would really like to see.
Jane Eyre
Specifically, I would like to see Soragumi do this one before Yuuhi and Sumika leave. They would be perfect for it, especially with Sumika's strong fragility. I think she would make a brilliant Jane, and Yuuhi would be fantastic as the taciturn, snarky Rochester :) Plus, it has the whole haunting, back-story riddled past of Rochester, which would make for awesome flashbacks.
Failing that, I could be happy with Kiriyan/Marimo doing it, although I would really prefer Yuuhi/Sumika for it. And I would really like to see what they would do with Bertha. The only problem with this story is the lack of male characters.
Female-wise, you have Jane, Blanche, the housekeeper, Grace Poole, Bertha, the cousins, evil-aunt, two evil-cousins and Adele. Male-wise, there's pretty much Rochester, Rivers, Mason, the lawyer and... well, minor background people who do nothing. Still, Yuuhi would be a fantastic Rochester :)
Labyrinth
Pretty much impossible, all muppety things considered, but seriously, how fantastic would Kiriyan be as Jareth? Seriously :D With Mirio being all bitchy bratness as a taller, more attractive Hoggle and Marimo stamping around and kicking things as Sarah :D (Plus, the simple idea of Kiriyan singing 'As the World Falls Down' makes me shiver)
Little Shop of Horrors
*considers* This would have to go to the non-tops of Hoshi, methinks. Tomomin as Seymour with Remi as Audrey ideally. And Makaze as the Dentist, just for the sheer hell of it ;) She seems the type who loves weird and challenging roles, as well as the completely off the wall ones. Plus, there are plenty of big voices in the Musumeyakus of Hoshi for the Urchins.
The King and I
This (or Oliver) was one of the first musicals I ever saw, and I still love it.
I would love to see a Zuka production, but I fear it'll never be the case due to the distinct lack of roles. It's definitely more a leading-player focussed show, alas. Tomu, I think, would own this, though. She could play the arrogant King as well as the humbled King equally well. Although Ran-chan is, sadly, a little young to be a widow with a 12 year old.
These are the main ones, but I'd also be more than delighted to see some more cross-dressing women tales. Such as the doctor who lived her whole life as a man and was only uncovered after her death, or the miscellany of soldiers in drag. Or even Joan of Arc, who was awesome.
And lastly, this is a personal thing, but I would love to see them do the love story of Maximilian II of Austria and Anna of Spain. Disregarding the fact they were cousins, he was a free-thinking Austrian who was liberal about religion despite the fact he was meant to be head of the Catholic empire, and rival for her father and brother for the Imperial throne.
There are even rumours they poisoned their new in-law after the marriage to try and be rid of him, but he survived and he and Anna were ridiculously happy (16-children-happy) together. She was the only person he would let tend him when he was sick, and she in turned doted on him. Wishful thinking, yis, but I don't care :D That is what randomness is for!

Date: 2011-01-29 08:13 pm (UTC)Of all these ideas I think I like Tomomin x Remi Little Shop the best :D Only I would make Ichijou Azusa the dentist. You watch her duel in Habsburgs and then tell me she wouldn't be spot-on as a sadist ^^;;;

Date: 2011-01-29 08:25 pm (UTC)As for characters, isn't there a guy (Bertha's brother?) who comes in and tells Jane about Rochester's past? And then there's also the priest towards the end. I could see both of those roles being modified to be a little bigger.
As for Bertha, I think that would be a great role for a non-star tracked upperclassman musumeyaku <3
As for Labyrinth...I suppose you could just have all of the other seito as the Muppets. Unless it would be too weird to take out the puppetry. Hmm. But yes, Kiriyan!Jareth=WIN :D :D :D

Date: 2011-01-29 08:42 pm (UTC)And I agree on the Bow Hall. I really am very fond of Bow shows anyway. Some of my favourite shows have been there.
... and now, I can't get the image of Kiriyan in Jareth-wear out of my head. Which is partially good, but also, brings to mind, what I most prominently remember of Bowie in that film, which is unfortunate...
