There's been quite a bit of speculation going on about what Kiriyan's Grand Theatre debut will be as Top Star. A lot of people are whispering about The Scarlet Pimpernel.

This may have just been given a little more credence given the fact Frank Wildhorn is going to be in Japan in March 2010, just about when rehearsals for Tsukigumi's show get under way. He is mostly going to be there for a concert/show featuring Aran Kei and Mate Kamaras, previously performed by Ichiro Maki and Uwe Kroeger. However, I do wonder if his main motive is to see another of his shows Zukafied.

It's known that Kiriyan loves Wildhorn shows, and her favourite is Jekyll and Hyde. It's only speculation, but wouldn't be it be awesomesauce to see her do that role? Also, it's a good show for Tsuki at the moment, since it has no set top Musume, so if they still haven't decided, they can test out people against her. Plus, multiple male roles as support.

Thoughts? :)

Yesssssssss... more Pimpernel would be GOOD!

They're doing a new DIVA show?

Ah yes, I think I've heard about that one too. I was somewhat dubious about that being a DIVA show, because... well, Touko is good, but I doubt she reached Ichiro's status in Japan in such a short time. (No offence intended, of course... there's still plenty of time for her to do so.) Still... MATE! XD

They're also years apart, and I think the younger you are, the more fans (and generations of fans) you're likely to attract. Especially in Japan. ^^;;; At any rate, Touko/Mate is a great thing!

Now see, in my dream world, Wildhorn would be going to adapt his new musical about Rudolf for the Takarazuka. But with a show called "Sword of the Hapsburgs" on the roster for next year, I kind of doubt it. Would the Takarazuka do two Hapsburg musicals in the same year? *wish*

It's a pity he doesn't do so well, because I love everything I've heard of Wildhorn's. He's touting Rudolf as new on his website, last I saw. Maybe he was giving it a full-on official debut? *shrug*

I need to investigate the European musical theatre scene more. It seems there are lots of fun things I would like playing there that never make it to the US.

I have Asaji Saki's version of that, and it's amazing! But, there's no reason they couldn't do Wildhorn's Rudolf as well, if they liked the story. Probably wishful thinking on my part, though.

When you explain it like that I can see how Jekyll and Hyde might be good but... :S it scares me!!

I don't think Scarlet Pimpernel would really suit Tsukigumi right now, but I'm not completely averse to it. I would love something along the lines of Me and My Girl or Ernest In Love (maybe not those shows themselves, but something in that style), as I think Tsukigumi does 'western comedy' really well and Kiriya in particular suits those types of roles.

Ahh...speculation :)
